Chamber Orchestra Ogden Concert

Tickets go on sale Tuesday, January 29th.

Fairy Tales Come Alive in Music. This is a family concert for all ages except babes in arms.  The music we will perform comes from many of the fairy tale legends from around the world.

You will have the opportunity to enjoy hearing music from such fairy tales as Hansel and Gretel from Germany, The Snow Maiden from Russia,  and the French fairy tales, Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast.  Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute will be represented on this concert with the extremely difficult coloratura aria “Der Hölle Rache kocht in meinem Herzen.”  There is no consensus regarding the origin of the story of The Magic Flute, but you will certainly enjoy soprano Cheryl Fowers’ performance of this aria. We will also perform music such as Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, which was inspired by a short story by Russian writer Nikolai Gogol.

Joining Cheryl for a performance of the “Evening Prayer” duet from Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel will be soprano Keirsten Erickson.

Chamber Orchestra Ogden is conducted by Michael Palumbo.
